The Tyler Pierce Memorial Tournament was founded in 2011, in memory of Tyler Pierce, with the mission to assist in promoting the awareness of suicide. As you may know, Tyler was a victim of suicide in March of that same year. A young, loyal member of the Juda, Wisconsin community, Tyler chose to make a decision his friends and family would unfortunately have to live with. Just months later, several members of the community, bound by the same common objective, came together to draw from the positives of this extremely unfortunate situation—to give back to the community that had supported us so well, as we handled the loss of this great young man. Forming the Tyler Pierce Memorial, the friends and family of Tyler Pierce sought to raise funds, which would be used to promote suicide prevention and awareness in Green County. In September 2014, the organization obtained 501(c)(3) status, and Tyler’s TEAM Foundation, Inc. was founded.
As we gain support every day, our Foundation continues to grow. Thanks to the continued support of the community, we are pleased to award several scholarships each year and have the opportunity to make generous contributions to local and national initiatives to support suicide awareness, mental health, and positive life choices in the community. In addition, our Foundation strives to provide education through speakers and curricula within the local school systems. Hoping that one day, no one has to go through what Tyler went through, we constantly strive to grow and improve our initiatives by gaining resources, networking, and ultimately, giving more back to the community.
